Infographics

Infographics - Information in Interesting Ways

Infographics are information graphics with visual representations of information, data or knowledge. These graphics present complex information quickly and clearly. Because we are overloaded with information, the key is no longer to get the information out there, but to get attention for it.

Use if for free

An infographic allows you to display a lot of content in an organized, precise and visually appealing way. Websites like http://piktochart.com and  http://www.wordle.net help to make infographics for free.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Infographics

  1. Infographics are more eye-catching than printed words, since they usually combine images, colors, movement, and content that naturally draw the eye. (Human beings are highly visual and can absorb visual information)
  2. It helps to “scan” material as opposed to actually reading text. Furthermore, we tend to remember information that we’ve seen more so than read.
  3. Infographics are extremely shareable for use around the web.
  4. They help for “Brand Awareness”  by designing them with  consistent colors, shapes, and messages, along with your company logo
  5.  A well designed and aesthetically pleasing infographic will drive people to your site since they are more likely to “share” and “click” on it.
  6.  Right infographics not only make it easier to understand complex information, but boos both the creators profile and website traffic.
However making infographics are time consuming.
If not done well, infograpchis may be overloaded with data.

All Solutions to Word Styles

Word styles

Most people, when I ask them, say yes when I ask if they know how to use Microsoft Word. When I add: “Do you know how to use styles?” almost all the yesses turn to no.
Word Styles - there are lots of choices

How much do you know?

Most people know that headings and subheadings in a document make it easier for people to scan and read them. Did you know that using styles to make those headings make it easier for machines—most importantly, search engines—to read your document? If you’re going to put a PDF online, remember this:
“Never underestimate the importance of styles in a document.”

How does it benefit?

In addition to making your content easier for your audience and technology, using styles properly saves you time. Sure, it may take a little while to set up a stylesheet to your liking, but when you do, even if you decide you don’t like the style, you can change it globally.

Additionally, when you’ve properly formatted your headings and subheadings, you can auto-generate and re-generate your table of contents, no matter how much editing you do. Even if page numbers change, as long as you’ve used heading styles in your document, Word can find them.
